STOP PRESS: AT HORSHAM & DISTRICT OPEN SHOW ON 20TH MARCH 2009, SISKO WINS BOB UNDER JOHN LYONS AND GROUP 1 UNDER MARIONSmuu and Tuukka's daughter.  More than capable of doing a day's work, Sisko has wonderful movement and is extremely fit.  A very easy dog to live with, she loves showing & any kind of training and spends every evening sitting on our laps!

As a puppy Sisko was really easy.  I had been very worried at first that she might be rather aloof and not that interested in having a relationship with us two legged beasties, preferring instead the company of her Mum and Dad.  I needn't have worried.  The rules about not being allowed on the furniture were soon forgotten - out went the rule book and into our lives came the cuddliest, most affectionate dog I have ever known.  We cannot sit on the sofa for more than a minute before she is there with us, on our laps, licking us, snuggling, just wanting affection or simply to lie close.  Smuu and Tuukka are more independent - they like the odd fuss but then go and lie elsewhere.  Sisko, I'm sure, would love nothing better than to actually sleep in our beds with us!  And no, going upstairs is one rule that I won't allow to be broken!  She is so utterly adorable and we are all completely smitten with her.

Out of the four Lappies I have had the pleasure of owning, she was definitely the worst chewer.  She must have eaten at least a dozen pairs of my shoes, not to mention Rory's new ski bag and the corners of his antique rugs.  Thankfully this behaviour had stopped by the age of twelve months, although she'll still dig a good hole along with her partner in crime, Tuukka!

5th July 2009 - Windsor Championship Show   Judge Stuart Mallard

OB (3) 1 Mowatt's TabanyaRuu Sisko, very attractive lady, ultra feminine & beautifully balanced.  Not the ideal head & eye is rather light.  From thereon poetry in motion & a sound mover, superbly presented & nicely handled.

I showed her enthusiastically as a puppy (as you tend to do!) and she gave a good account for herself, winning Best Puppy at her first Championship Show, as well as Best Puppy at Crufts 2005.

I'm not the best at record keeping, but judging from the rosettes that I have hung on to, she won B.P  A.V.N.S.C Tunbridge Wells, going on to win PG2, Best AV Puppy, Romsey & District (her first ever show at six months), Best A.V.N.S.C  Puppy, Horley & District going on to win PG3, B.P A.V Rare Breeds, Camberley & District.  Also as a puppy, she was entered into my Ringcraft Match, winnning B.P and going on to win Best in Match - no mean feat!

She also won the Finnish Lapphund Club of Great Britain's trophy for most points accumulated at Open Shows as a puppy.

Mowatt's TabanyaRuu Sisko, very alert & attentive puppy giving away a lot in maturity as only 11 months old.  Stands very well and has excellent angulations & good length of neck, very glamorous, tail set well & used effectively to demonstrate outgoing alert personality.  Pretty head but needs to broaden throughout skull and muzzle, time is on her side, good oval dark eye.  Moves freely and soundly'  Toni Jackson Crufts 05

'Mowatt's TabanyaRuu Sisko, loved the head, well balanced frame, movement & style of this young lady, good through head & body with the correct proportions.  Nice coat & good on the move, free easy stride covering the ground well'  Jeff Luscott, Bournemouth Championship Show 05, Sisko winning Junior Bitch.

'Mowatt's TabanyaRuu Sisko, Finnish Lapphund, very pleasing for type, balance & outline, well proportioned head, medium sized ears, well used, eye could be darker but still had a lively, intelligent expression, good length of tail, well carried, good furnishings, coat all over profuse, course texture, legs well boned, straight front & rear, feet oval & tight, free & sound movement'. 05. note to self, do not rip critiques out of Dog World without first making sure I have included the show and judge's details:)
